Bellevue Library

Bellevue Library – Nashville, Tennessee

FD provided LEED Enhanced Commissioning services for a LEED Gold certified library.  This facility was designed with multiple areas where large concentrations of people would be gathered for short term meetings. During the design review, FD recommended that Demand Control Ventilation be added to the outside air (OA) units so that the units could operate at a lower air flow when the building was partially occupied.

This recommendation increased the efficiency of the OA units while simultaneously reducing the need for heating and cooling outside air during unoccupied times, resulting in a significant reduction of energy consumption.  Ultimately, this decrease in demand should also increase the longevity of the equipment’s service life as well.
