Highland Heights Middle School

Highland Heights Middle School – Nashville, Tennessee

During the commissioning of a LEED Silver certified school, FD identified an issue with a dedicated outside air unit that was providing pre-conditioned supply air for ventilation to the building. The unit control sequence was not provided with a means to become energized if the space humidity was above the setpoint during unoccupied hours.  Working with the controls’ contractor, FD was able to use space humidity sensors to energize the unit when indoor conditions exceeded setpoint. This sequence adjustment allowed the school to maintain acceptable levels of humidity even when unoccupied.
