Kitchen exhaust hoods can have an adverse impact on building pressure if the make-up air is not properly designed, installed or operated correctly. FD worked with the designer and contractor to establish a system that would create negligible air pressure variations whether the hoods were on or off.

FD has conducted numerous facility condition audits where negative building pressure has been attributed to a kitchen hood operation without adequate make-up air.
